It was my honor to be a participant in the Virginia lean start-up program known as ICAP, which is a part of the National Science Foundation I-Corp regional program. It involved three weeks of intensive work and 13 interviews strong in the customer discovery process. It was hard to work around the schedule of surgeons, but I definitely learned a lot. I gained business knowledge that would not have been possible to gain in my Ph.D. coursework. Excited to learn more about how I can translate my technology to the market as I enter the National I-Corp program next year.
